The Pico Rivera Senior Center in collaboration with Bet Tzedek Legal Services will be hosting an Advanced Life Planning workshop on Wednesday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom.
Advanced life planning, if ignored, can go from an informative and straightforward conversation to a drawn-out nightmare. Low-income clients often have little resources or time to devote to advanced life planning, and therefore they frequently resort to “no planning” or improvised planning. The results can be devastating.
This 45-minute presentation with Q & A will provide Seniors with information and resources about:
» Advance Health Care Directive: A document recording your healthcare wishes and appointing a person to make decisions if you are no longer able.
» Simple Will (also known as a Statutory Will): A basic document for disposing of your real and personal property after your death in accordance with your wishes.
» Durable Power of Attorney for Finance: Springing or Immediate This document allows a person to designate an agent to manage their financial affairs. This is a legal document that they will help clients complete.
