With the deck of the railroad bridge taking shape, construction of the Durfee Avenue Grade Separation Project continues with more visible progress.

Last month, crews were busy constructing the retaining walls north of the railroad tracks along Durfee Avenue. The retaining walls will support the new roadway that will be constructed at a later time. Railroad crews were also busy laying down the permanent track, replacing the temporary shoofly or detour track this is currently being used for railroad traffic during the construction.

Durfee Avenue will remain closed until June 2022, when the new roadway is anticipated to open to all traffic. Currently, access to businesses located on Durfee Avenue near the closure that are allowed to operate per the latest Health Orders are minimally impacted by the road closure, and access is available at all times.
