Children ages 18 and under can get free, nutritious meals this summer thanks to a program offered by the California Department of Education and the United States Department of Agriculture. The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the Summer Food Services Program at four locations in June, July, and August from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Meals will be provided Monday through Friday at the following locations from June 14 through August 6:

» Rivera Park
9530 Shade Lane
» Rio Hondo Park
8421 San Luis Potosi Place
» Smith Park
6016 Rosemead Blvd.
All meals are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and will only be available as Grab and Go. There will be no eating accommodations provided at any of the sites. For more information about the meal distributions, contact the City’s Parks and Recreation Department at 562.801.4430.
District to Offer Summer Meal Programs
As a result of the current public health crisis, the El Rancho Unified School District will be providing free meals for Children 18 years and younger through the duration of the Summer. The El Rancho Unified School District will continue its meal distribution program for breakfast and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Meals are currently distributed at the District’s four sites:
» STEAM Academy at Burke, 8101 Orange Avenue
» Rivera Middle School, 7200 Citronell Avenue
» North Park Academy of the Arts, 4450 Durfee Avenue
» South Ranchito Dual Language Academy, 5241 S. Passons Blvd.
» Veterans and Ladies Auxiliary Park, 9325 Garth Gardner Lane
Meals offered by the El Rancho Unified School District will continue to be offered on a daily basis until Friday, July 23 (no distribution on July 5) On Monday, July 26 and August 2, 5-Day meal kits will be distributed from the four (4) school sites (listed above) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or until items run out at the individual sites.
