The City of Pico Rivera is pleased to be one of three local governments to receive this year’s Southern California Gas Company Climate Adaptation & Resiliency Grant for $50,000. The purpose of the grant is to aid with climate change impact reductions. The City of Pico Rivera plans to use this funding to develop a Climate Adaptation Plan (CAP) in order to quantify past, current, and future actions towards climate change mitigation. The CAP will provide a clear path to reducing GHG emissions across several factors including: on-road transportation, energy use, solid waste, short-lived climate pollutants, and off-road equipment. The City understands the importance of responding to the needs of the community with solutions to all of the issues surrounding health and well-being while using an approach rooted in social equity and environmental justice.
