The Holidays were a bit brighter for young residents thanks to our City Staff, who supported the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station, and local non-profit El Centro del Pueblo toy drives.
The Sheriff’s toy drive is an annual event that benefits families in the Pico Rivera community. Each year the amount of aid to the community depends on donations, and this year they were able to distribute approximately 1200 toys to 400 kids. The event was a drive-thru event held just before the Christmas Holiday.
City staff also contributed over $200 to help El Centro del Pueblo with a day of service in Baja, California. Earlier this month, the non-profit group that services the Southeast Los Angeles area visited Casa Hogar de Los Niños. On this particular visit, they provided the orphanage with gifts, shoes, jackets, and a warm meal.
Special Thanks to our City employees and all of those who contributed during this time of year to make the Holidays a bit more special for underserved families in the community.
